ACCESS TO RIVIERE NOIRE
To access the area of Black River (Rivière Noire) in Mauritius from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (SSR Airport), you have several convenient options. By car, the journey typically takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. From the airport, take the M2 motorway towards Port Louis. After reaching Port Louis, continue on the M1 towards the south, then take the A3 road leading directly to Black River. The route is well-signposted and offers scenic views of the island.
Alternatively, you can book a taxi from the airport for a direct and comfortable ride to Black River. Car rental services are also available at the airport if you prefer to drive yourself. Many hotels and resorts in Black River offer pre-arranged airport transfers which can be booked in advance for added convenience. Public buses are an option, but they require multiple transfers and significantly longer travel time, making private transportation more efficient.
